Taco-style wings featuring a creamy, zesty sauce made with Fire Roasted Jalapeño & Garlic sauce and Mexican crema. Grilled to perfection and finished with bright lime, cilantro, and pickled onions for a taco night twist.

Ingredients

  • 2-3 lbs chicken wings (18-24 wings)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning blend
  • 1/4 cup Melinda's Fire Roasted Jalapeno & Garlic Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Melinda's Chipotle Ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Mexican crema
  • 2 tbsp agave syrup
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Lemon zest
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Pickled red onions

Directions

  1. Toss wings with olive oil and taco seasoning blend until evenly coated.
  2. Preheat grill for two-zone cooking at medium-high heat.
  3. Cook wings over indirect heat for approximately 45 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  4. While wings cook, whisk together all Creamy Taco Sauce ingredients until smooth.
  5. Finish wings directly over hot coals until lightly charred and crispy.
  6. Toss hot wings immediately in the creamy taco sauce.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro, lemon zest, and pickled red onions.
  8. Serve warm.

Equipment

  • Grill
  • Mixing bowl

Recipe Note

Cook indirect first to render fat, then sear over coals for char. The creamy taco sauce pairs perfectly with the smoky grilled flavor.
